Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance

Awarded by Trinity College London.

Our dance course is tailored towards dancers/singers. A student on this course will major in dance with singing and acting as supporting skills.

The Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance course prepares you for work in shows such as Cats, Wicked and Thriller Live. Our students also go on to work in the commercial field, cruise ships and cabarets. This course ensures that graduates enter the profession with a wide skill base and are prepared for any audition.

Year One

Year one will focus on developing core techniques in ballet, jazz, commercial and contemporary. Students will then underpin secondary skills in singing technique and acting. Class work follows a demanding structure allowing strength and consistency to develop. All first year students take part in the end of year production allowing them to demonstrate techniques developed throughout the year.

Year Two

Year two starts to blend the application of techniques to performance and challenges students to push the boundaries in all areas of their training. Second year students take part in a full length in-house-musical to enable students to develop the understanding of performance in practice. Class work focuses more on developing integrated practice with masterclasses in specialised styles featuring more heavily on the timetable.

Year Three

Third year students focus mainly on performance allowing them to use all the sills they have developed from the first two years. Those who reach the required standard in the second semester will be given the opportunity to perform in our Agent Showcase at Pineapple Studios in London's West End. Students will also take part in a fully staged musical, learning to cope with the demands of live theatre. Dance students will work on an integrated performance of dance styles for their end of year assessment, allowing them to demonstrate choreographic skills. Industry professionals regularly audition classes at the college, giving students up-to-date information of what is required of them in the industry.
