Two years of full-time training in performance and production at SLP College in Garforth, Leeds, leading to a UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma worth up to 168 UCAS points.
The UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing and Production Arts is a full-time, two-year course for learners who want to develop their skills across a broad range of performance and production disciplines. You'll explore and strengthen your practical, creative and analytical abilities, experience different areas of the industry, and prepare for higher education, specialist training or employment.
SLP College delivers the course in partnership with SCL, the registered education provider. If you're offered a place, you enrol as an SCL learner. The qualification is awarded by UAL Awarding Body.
Course structure
Your tutors assess your work throughout the course through a portfolio of evidence. Your Year 1 grade comes from the Collaborative performance project, and your final grade from the Extended project. Both are graded Pass, Merit or Distinction and moderated externally by UAL Awarding Body. The Diploma is worth 36, 60 or 84 UCAS points, and the Extended Diploma is worth 72, 120 or 168.
Getting in
Academic requirements
Entry is by audition and interview. We normally look for five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language and maths, but we will still consider you if you show the right commitment to developing your English and maths. If you haven't yet passed English or maths, you'll study them alongside the course.
Age
You must be 16 or over when the course starts.
Admission to SLP College is based on your audition performance, potential and commitment to training.
As part of your audition, you'll be asked to demonstrate your skills in dance, acting and singing. Then, you'll be interviewed by members of the faculty.
The audition process is designed to give you the chance to show your individuality, creativity and readiness for professional training.

Tuition fees
There are no upfront tuition fees. The course is government funded through SCL: through 16 to 19 funding, or through an Advanced Learner Loan for eligible learners aged 19 and over. An Advanced Learner Loan is a loan you repay, not a grant, so please ask us which applies to you before you enrol.
Supplementary fee
There is a mandatory supplementary fee of £250 a year (£500 over the two years), paid to SLP College at enrolment each year.
It contributes to production costs for your showcases and public performances: costume, props, set materials, technical support, lighting, sound, rehearsal resources and consumables. It does not cover uniform, dancewear or personal costs.
Other costs to budget for
SLP College offers various extra-curricular activities which students can choose to audition for and take part in.
Acro and Partner Work classes have a small fee.
