SLP College became a registered charity in July 2019. Our charitable objects are to advance the education of pupils at SLP College by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities of Drama, Music and Dance. To advance the life of young people by providing education and training in the study of Music and other arts to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.

Chairman - Mr Terry Moran CB
Terry retired early in March 2013 following a 35-year career in the Civil Service. His most recent appointment was as Second Permanent Secretary at the Department for Work and Pensions.
He started work in 1977 straight from school and spent his first 12 years working in local offices in Yorkshire and London before moving into HQ.
His most recent senior roles saw him serve as:
- Second Permanent Secretary & Chief Operating Officer for all employment, pensions and benefits services nationally.
- Chief Executive of the Pension, Disability and Carers Service
- Chief Executive of The Pension Service
- Chief Executive of the Disability and Carers Service
- Director, Jobcentre Plus, North West Region
- Director, Benefits Agency, Yorkshire Region
He successfully completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School in 2005.
He is currently Chair of Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. His previous non executive roles saw him Chair the
Board of Together for Short Lives 2014/17; Trustee on the national Board of the Social Care Institute for Excellence 2012/16 where he was also Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee 2015/16 and Trustee on the national Board of Victim Support where he was also Chair of their national Diversity Council - 2005/8.
He was appointed a Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB) in HM The Queen’s Birthday Honour List 2007.
Treasurer - Mrs Jane Hazelgrave
Jane is currently Director of Finance for the Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust having joined from Bradford Districts and Bradford City Clinical Commissioning Groups. Jane has impressive experience of financial management within the public and private sectors.
Following a career with companies such as Joshua Tetley and John Smith’s, Jane’s first healthcare post was at the NHS Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust where she stayed for 10 years before moving onto Yorkshire and Humber Strategic Health Authority. Jane took up her first Director of Finance role at Bradford and Airedale PCT before becoming Chief Finance Officer and Deputy Chief Officer for Bradford City and Bradford Districts CCGs. Jane is also a Trustee for the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Charity.
Mrs Eileen Thompson
Eileen retired in July 2016 from her position as Educational Co-ordinator and Head of Integrated Professional Studies here at SLP College. Eileen taught at St Peter’s CE Primary School, Fieldhead JI&N School, Paddock JI&N School (Senior Teacher, for 2 years) and was an Advisory Teacher for Kirklees LEA, running courses and supporting teachers in KS2 English and curriculum planning. She worked as a supply teacher for Kirklees, Bradford and Leeds LEAs over a period of several years, as well as coaching children privately and training teachers in the marking of KS2 English SATs.
Eileen studied with the Open University, achieving her BA in 1988. Voluntary work has involved being an active committee member of Dewsbury Arts Group for 15 years and a governor of Fieldhead JI&N School (Kirklees LEA) for 4 years.
Mr Felix Bartig-Carver
Felix has travelled extensively through the Americas, Asia and South Pacific. He is the Director of a Security Systems company in the UK and is Anilio Campus Co- Focaliser at the Greek non-profit 'Pelion Centre for Holistic Education' whose vision is a world where authentic community and sustainable living are the foundation of all aspects of our society.
Mrs Tracey Christmas
Tracey is a professionally qualified accountant with 21 years post qualification experience in both public and private sector environments at senior board level within Finance, HR and Corporate Services, with experience in education, healthcare and criminal justice. She was appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in July 2015. Tracey is a Finance Business Partner for the Ministry of Justice / National Offender Management Service working within the Yorkshire Region at HMP Full Sutton and HMP Hatfield. She is also a past president of the ACCA Women’s Society and International Assembly UK Representative, and is currently an elected representative for Yorkshire and the North East on the ACCA’s Strategy Implementation Committee. Tracey has previously served as a Non-Executive Director of Eastern Hull NHS Primary Care Trust. Tracey has a passion for dance and as a child attended a stage school where she learned ballet, tap, modern, jazz and contemporary dancing, taking part in competitions and being part of the chorus in professional shows and pantomimes, leading to her joining a dance troupe at age 18.
